Here are a few thoughts and suggestions to help make the most of your Freedom Day:
1. Choosing your focus.
If you haven't already, start thinking about what goals you would like to accomplish on Freedom Day.
You may find that just by putting the intention out there, you start working on these goals before our date! Funny how that works, eh?
2. Get specific.
Write down the action steps necessary for accomplishing your goals. Split them into segments for our calls. The more prepared you are, the more you will accomplish.
3. Plan your environments.
Plan your environments for our date. In other words, do you want a big fat "Do Not Disturb" sign on your door, or are you willing to be interrupted during our date? Either ones OK, just decide before hand so that you're not surprised if some one comes knocking. Other environments can include having lunch pre-prepared, having music selected, having your bed made before we meet, and any prep work you want to do for your projects and goals, e.g. papers sorted for filing if cleaning your office is your goal.
4. Get in the coaching mindset.
Be prepared to be real. Be prepared to cheer successes and support those facing a challenge in the tasks they have chosen to undertake. Be there to support and be open to BEING supported in return. You will be amazed at what a dedicated team playing the Freedom Day Game can accomplish!
5. Be realistic.
Set high goals for yourself, but make sure they're attainable. Reach a little higher than you would assign yourself casually but don't try and write your entire Thesis!
6. Think fun!
You have total permission to have fun with this process, and I highly encourage you to do so. Based on the folks who typically sign up for this event, I know we can have a lot of fun together.
